Music to my ears

Lucy only ever sings two songs: I'm a Little Teapot and The Old Grey Mare (she ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be ..... ad infinitum).

I've really never had expectations about what she would sing, but if I'd been asked, The Old Grey Mare wouldn't have made it onto my list of top five most likely.

Less unexpectedly, Nell loves to bop around to Wake Me Up (Before You Go-Go). Because it just keeps getting better and better, and it's poetry speaks to any age.

Dan hums along to all sorts of music but will sing ee-ei-ee-ei-oo, along with Old Macdonald. Which amuses me no end, because he can only pronounce half a dozen words, and he's chosen ee-ei-ee-ei-oo as one of them, rather than something useful like 'food' or 'drink'.

lol - do you realise I will have The Old Grey Mare and Wake me up before you go-go in my head all night now :)

I have been utterly unsuccessful in trying to convince my sons to like my music. It's strictly kids' stuff. Wham! may not be my current taste, but I think I'd take it over the first two lines of Twinkle Twinkle ad infinitum.

A friend told me his 9 year old daughter has just graduated to the Foo Fighters, so there is hope!

What would you have them belting out if you had your 'druthers?

Now where did she hear that moldy oldy? I'm ashamed to say I remember every word of that song.

Kez, there's no need to thank me; Theresa, there's no need for shame - it's one of the greats (and right up there, melodically, with the Pretty in Pink soundtrack!!).

I'm not too unhappy with Old Grey Mare - it's kind of soothing.

My comment was for your last post, but I see you have been hit by the scammer.

I wanted to say, It will all be different on Teusday.... or maybe, later on today!
